12 day car tour

Bangkok - River Kwai - Cha-Am - Prachuab Khiri Khan - Khao Sok - Phuket (or at your choice in Krabi or Koh Samui)

A particularly varied tour for lovers of natural beauty and an active holiday. Your journey begins in the bustling capital of Bangkok with its beautiful palaces and temples. In the former capital Ayutthaya you can see the glorious past. In Kanchanaburi you will discover the natural beauty and the moving history. From Cha-Am you will visit the impressive Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park and you can spot elephants in the Kuiburi National Park. You cross the peninsula and stay amidst the tropical rainforests and limestone formations of the Khao Sok National Park, where you stay in a nice resort and on a floating lodge in the Chew Lan Lake. Your trip ends at a beach resort of your choice in Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui where you can enjoy the sun, sand and sea.

Day 1: Bangkok (approx. 40 km)

Upon arrival at Bangkok airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to the centrally located hotel. You will stay 2 nights in the fascinating metropolis of Bangkok.

Day 2: Bangkok - city tour

In the inner city, visit the magnificent Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The splendor of the huge complex is dazzling. Afterwards you will take a refreshing boat trip on the wide 'River of Kings' and through the narrow 'klongs' of the Thonburi district. You will pass the majestic Wat Arun on the riverbank, the 'Temple of Dawn' and the Royal Barge Museum with the golden royal sloops. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 3. Bangkok - Ayutthaya - River Kwai (approx. 190 km)

You leave Bangkok and drive to the former capital Ayutthaya. In the world famous Ayutthaya Historical Park you can visit various ruins that remind of times gone by. After lunch in Kanchanaburi town, visit the War Cemetery, Thailand-Burma Railway Center and Bridge over the River Kwai. You will stay for 1 night at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts or The Floathouse River Kwai. In the evening you have dinner.

Day 4: River Kwai - Erawan waterfall - Cha-Am (approx. 190 km)

Amid the greenery of the Erawan National Park, the stunning Erawan Waterfall plunges into shady pools where you can swim in the crystal clear waters. The park also offers the opportunity to climb up the waterfalls via a beautiful, but steep path. After lunch you will drive to the popular resort of Cha-Am where you will stay 1 night in a beautiful hotel located near the beach.

Day 5: Cha-Am – Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park and Kuiburi National Park - Prachuab Khiri khan (approx. 130 km)

An active and adventurous day. You will visit the Khao Sam Roi Yod Marine National Park. The park consists of an impressive landscape of mountain ranges, mangrove forests, freshwater swamps and beaches on the Gulf of Thailand. By fishing boat you make a trip through the mangrove to a quiet beach. Here you can enjoy the beautiful beach and climb the steps to the impressive Prayanakorn cave. The steep climb to the cave is well worth the effort. Upon arrival, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the cave into which you descend. The silence in the cave is overwhelming. A lunch is included. In the afternoon you will drive to Kuiburi National Park, known for its wild elephants. By safari car you make a trip through the park to spot elephants and other animals. In the early evening you will arrive at your accommodation in Prachuab Khiri Khan.

Day 6: Prachub Khiri Khan – Khao Sok National Park (approx. 380 km)

Today you drive through a pineapple, coconut and rubber plantations to the most impressive rainforest and game reserve in southern Thailand. The Khao Sok National Park is truly a 'little paradise' on earth. The park has a breathtaking landscape and is home to one of the oldest rainforests on the planet, a crystal clear blue lake, great diversity of wildlife, cave systems and huge limestone rocks. Tonight you will have dinner at the resort, located on the edge of the national park resort. You stay here 1 night.

Day 7: Chew Lan lake and stay at a floating lodge (in international company)

After breakfast you will go to the most beautiful lake in Southeast Asia for an unforgettable trip (in international company) and stay including lunch in a floating lodge on the lake. Here you can relax, swim in the clear water and go tubing or canoeing. You make a jungle walk, visit a cave and a floating house. In the evening you will have dinner at the lodge. The mysterious jungle sounds create a very special atmosphere. The charm and purpose of staying on the lake is to "become one with nature". You will therefore stay in a simply furnished bungalow made of bamboo or wood. There are shared facilities for the toilet and shower. There is no electricity during the day, but there are oil lamps in the evenings and also a generator so that you can recharge batteries if desired. Bring your own towel and a flashlight!

Day 8: Chew Lan Lake - Khao Sok National Park

After you have been awakened by the calls of the monkeys and many bird sounds, you will have breakfast at your floating lodge. You can relax until another spectacular boat trip through the Khao Sok jungle takes you back to the pier. After a simple lunch (Lunchbox) you will drive back to the resort. In the evening you will again have dinner here.

Day 9: Khao Sok National Park – Phuket/Krabi/Koh Samui

In the morning you will take a guided canoe trip on the Klong Sok River, past impressive rock walls and through a 'tunnel' of dense jungle. Then you have a transfer to Khao Lak, Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui. Here you will stay for the next 3 nights in a beautiful resort, located near the beach.

Day 10: Phuket/Krabi/Koh Samui

Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure

Day 12: Phuket/Krabi/Koh Samui

This tour ends on day 12 where you will be transferred to Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui airport, or you can choose to extend this tour with one of our many extension options.
