We take you to Bangkok, the River Kwai, the ancient Thai capitals of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, the 'Rose of the North' Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle. Your tour ends in Bangkok. Day 1: Bangkok (approx. 40 km)

Upon arrival at Bangkok airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to the centrally located hotel. You will stay 2 nights in the fascinating metropolis of Bangkok.

Day 2: Bangkok - city tour

In the inner city, visit the magnificent Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The splendor of the huge complex is dazzling. Afterwards you will take a refreshing boat trip on the wide 'River of Kings' and through the narrow 'klongs' of the Thonburi district. You will pass the majestic Wat Arun on the riverbank, the 'Temple of Dawn' and the Royal Barge Museum with the golden royal sloops. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 3: Bangkok - Damnoen Saduak - River Kwai (approx. 190 km)

You leave the capital and go to the unique train market in Samut Songkram. When the train arrives, the many stalls and umbrellas are pushed aside, so that the 'Thai Intercity' can pass without any problems. In Damnoen Saduak you will then sail to the colorful floating market. A particularly photogenic spectacle. After lunch you will take an exciting train ride on the Burma Railway. You will stay 1 night in a beautiful resort located on the Kwai River.

Day 4: River Kwai - Ayutthaya (approx. 220 km)

In the morning you will visit the beautiful Erawan waterfall. After lunch in Kanchanaburi town, visit the Bridge over the River Kwai, the War Cemetery and the Thailand-Burma Railway Center Museum, where World War II is brought to life in a poignant way. In the afternoon drive to Ayutthaya. You will stay here for 1 night in a beautiful hotel located on the river.

Day 5: Ayutthaya - Sukhothai (approx. 260 km)

In the former capital of Siam, Ayutthaya, once one of the most powerful cities in Asia, you will visit the world-famous Historical Park with the imposing ruins of the Wat Chai Wattanaram, one of the most beautiful temples of Southeast Asia and the majestic Wat Phra Si Sanphet

After lunch, drive through the Chao Phraya River basin to the beautiful resort on the edge of the World Heritage Site of Sukhothai, where you will stay for 1 night.

Day 6: Sukhothai - Chiang Mai (approx. 310 km)

In the Sukhothai Historical Park you take an impressive bike ride along the many ruins and monuments, immense Buddha statues and lotus ponds. After lunch, visit the Mae Ta jungle market. Here you can eat grilled beetles and insects, a delicacy for the locals. Definitely worth a try! In the atmospheric city of Chiang Mai you will stay 3 nights in a centrally located hotel.

Day 7: Chiang Mai (approx. 50 km)

After breakfast you will visit the Doi Suthep temple located in the woods and at an altitude of more than 1000 meters. Afterwards you will take a tour through the old town. Start with a visit to the majestic Wat Chedi Luang, followed by a walk to the Three Kings Monument. You will then take a samlor (pedicab) ride along city walls, gates and canals, ending at the traditional Thai Worarot market on the Ping River.

Day 8: Chiang Mai

Day at leisure.

Day 9: Chiang Mai - Thaton - Chiang Rai (approx. 240 km)

From your hotel in Chiang Mai, drive to the Chiang Dao Caves. Then you drive through beautiful countryside to Thaton. Here you can enjoy the beautiful view over the valley of the Kok river. After lunch, drive through the Doi Mae Salong Mountains and visit the Akha and Yao hill tribes. You will stay 2 nights in Chiang Rai in an attractive hotel.

Day 10: Chiang Rai – Doi Tung - Golden Triangle – Chiang Rai (approx. 160 km)

After breakfast you will visit the Wat Rong Sua Tan (the 'blue temple') in Chiang Rai. After a stop at a tea plantation, you will explore the Royal Project in the Doi Tung Mountains with the botanical gardens of the Royal Villa, the Mae Fah Luang Botanical Gardens. Afterwards you drive to Mae Sai on the border with Myanmar. After lunch you will visit the interesting House of Opium in the Golden Triangle. From the viewpoint you have a beautiful view of the mighty Mekong River and the mountain landscape behind it. After visiting the historic town of Chiang Saen, you will drive back to Chiang Rai.

Day 11: Chiang Rai – Phrae - Phitsanulok (approx. 380 km)

Today you will first visit the extremely photogenic Wat Rong Khun, the famous White Temple in Chiang Rai. The renowned Thai artist Chalermchai paid for the construction of this masterpiece by selling his works of art. At Lake Phayao we serve you the best cup of coffee in Thailand. In the Phae Muang Phi Forest Park, a walk is taken along the earth pillars of sand and clay formed by erosion. After lunch, drive to Phitsanulok for overnight.

Day 12: Phitsanulok – Bangkok (approx. 340 km)

In Phitsanulok you will visit the Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat where you can admire one of the most beautiful and revered Buddha statues in the country, the Phra Phuttha Chinnarat. In Bang Pa-In you will visit various royal residences and the beautiful palace gardens of the Summer palace located in a beautiful park. Then you will return to Bangkok

Day 13: Bangkok

This tour ends on day 13 where you will be transferred back to Bangkok airport or you can choose to extend this tour with one of our many extension options.
