Attractive Phrae is surprisingly little visited.

Until recently, the mountainous province of Nan was one of the most inaccessible areas of Thailand.

Day 1: Chiang Mai - Phrae (approx. 190 km)

In the morning you will travel by train to Doi Khuntan. Then you will travel by minivan through the Doi Pha Klong National Park to Phrae. After lunch you will walk through the Phae Muang Phi Forest Park and take a tour by samlor (traditional bicycle taxi) through the old fortified city, known for its many teak houses. Overnight in Phrae.

Day 2 Phrae – Nan (approx. 160 km)

After breakfast you will visit Pha Nang Khoi cave. In the beautiful province of Nan you will visit the earth pillars of Sao Din, “Thailand's Grand Canyon” and the Pak Nai fishing village located on the banks of the Sirikit reservoir. After lunch, you will tour the town of Nan, including Wat Phumin and Wat Ming Muang. You stay 1 night in an attractive boutique hotel

Day 3 Nan – Phayao (about 150 km)

In the morning you drive a beautiful route through the mountains via Chiang Muan to Phayao. After lunch you will visit Wat Analayo. Scattered over forested hills, this unique shrine is home to many Buddha statues and monuments that differ from the traditional temples often seen in Thailand. You stay 1 night in a nice hotel.

Day 4 Phayao - Chiang Mai (about 190 km)

At the large Phayao Lake you will visit the Wat Sri Khom Kham. Then visit the beautiful Wang Kaew waterfall in Doi Luang National Park. In the afternoon, return to Chiang Mai with a stop at the Mae Kuang Dam along the way.
